Even the healthiest of cats is probably going to vomit occasionally. Such one-offs are usually not cause for grave concern. But “if a cat has a bout of vomiting that lasts longer than a day or vomits and then doesn’t eat for longer than 12 hours, the pet should be evaluated by a veterinarian,” says Michael Stone, DVM, board-certified veterinary internist and editor-in-chief of Catnip.
