The Key to Good Petting: High Frequency, Low Intensity

0

Perhaps after a day of work or chores you are finally ready to enjoy some down time with your cat and look forward to a good long stroking session. Some cats might enjoy that with people they are really comfortable with. But what cats like in general is not low frequency of interaction with high-intensity petting that lasts a while. They prefer instead lots of short interactions — high frequency — with low-intensity stroking that lasts for a relatively brief time. And they like to be the ones to initiate the “hellos.” Make a habit of letting a cat come to you for some stroking here and there, and you’ve made a friend for life.
